Guerrilla Tactics
The Vietcong was a very smart force, they did really good tactics and made amazing systems. The Vietcong used more of a ambush tactic against the South Vietnamese and the U.S Force. One good example of the tactics of the Vietcong is on January 1963, when the South Vietnamese and the U.S force tried to attack the Vietcong but the Vietcong was already ready and set up in their places to attack. The Vietcong attacked the South Vietnamese and the U.S Force and most of the soldiers of the South Vietnamese and the U.S Force did not make it out alive, only 18 men on the Vietcong died in that attack. The South Vietnamese was getting help by the American planes and the Vietcong need a form to get around and not get spotted so they built an amazing underground tunnel system. The Tunnel systems had trap doors that lead to a chamber that was really guarded and then those chambers lead to passages and then those passages lead to the surface and to more trap doors. Some of the underground tunnels had place where the Vietcong soldiers went to get more water supplies and more weapon, some tunnels even had a hospital, where they took care of injured soldiers. Some tunnel systems where very complex and some where small or huge but they where scattered around the whole country. One of the biggest underground tunnel systems was in the Cu Chi area. It was widely spread in the Cu Chi area and it was around 200 miles. These amazing system helped and supported the Vietcong in the Vietnam War.
